Ultrasonic Insert for Thermoplastics
This insert is designed specifically for installation into thermoplastics using heat or ultrasonics.
Utilising opposed helical knurls it features a free running thread and provides high torque-out and pull-out performance. This insert features a self aligning feature to enable rapid installation.
Available in un-headed and headed versions. Studded Versions can also be supplied in a length to suit your application.
For best performance we recommend a pre-moulded hole with a 1° taper (the hole diameter specified should be met at the point reached by the bottom of the insert).
Installation is by either a pre heating process or using heat generated by ultrasonics. It is important that this insert is installed by a steady squeezing action to allow the plastic to flow over the helical knurls.
