RoHS compliance

All of our products are manufactuRed Rust for reliability and consistently high quality and are RoHS compliant as standard.

Our bright zinc based platings are all high quality trivalent clear chromate based finishes.

What is Hydrogen Embrittlement?

All components, which are subjected to electroplating, may absorb hydrogen that is evolved during the plating process.

The absorption of hydrogen could potentially lead to a premature failure of the component due to hydrogen embrittlement.

Components manufactured from Carbon Steel that are case or through hardened are most at risk and as a precaution we bake our fasteners to industry standards to minimise the risk of failure. However, we cannot fully guarantee every component against embrittlement problems.

In safety critical situations the only way we can guarantee the performance of hardened carbon steel parts is to provide the part either unplated or with a non-electroplated coating.

For property class 12.9 and above fasteners we highly recommend that parts are supplied with a non- electroplated finish (i.e. Zinc Flake).

Give us a call to discuss alternative finishes where extra corrosion protection is required or if you are worried about possible hydrogen embrittlement problems.
