Insert for Brittle Thermoset Materials
This insert is designed specifically for press-in installation into brittle thermoset materials.
Utilising a sharp knurling pattern it is able to cut into the hole wall whilst reducing the radial stresses presented by other types of insert. This allows for installation into components with much thinner wall thicknesses than would otherwise be achievable.
Available in un-headed and headed versions. Studded Versions can also be supplied in a length to suit your application.
Due to the risk of stress induced hole weakness caused by drilling, we recommend that the hole should be pre-moulded with a 1° taper (the hole diameter specified should be met at the point reached by the bottom of the insert).
